Girl power is likely to be one of the New Year’s prevailing concepts as Girls' Generation practically drew first blood with the release of their fourth album "I Got A Boy". The title alone somehow suggests they're ready to dominate 2013 and no naughty boy can stop them!

Filipino fans of K-pop are in for an early treat this year following the local release of the highly anticipated new package on the very first day of 2013. The timely release and careful treatment put in preparing this album assure that listeners can hear choruses that are irresistibly melodic and catchy, or as insiders put it"easier to sing along to.Thelyrics of title track single are agreeably endearing and relatable, according to a Filipino critic scrutinizing the song. The tune is "about a girl who intimately confides to her friend and genuinely expresses her inner sentiments about a boy."
Noted composers from Korea like Yoo Young Jin (柳永進), along with top European musicians, have made sure this new album contains enough dosage of versatility to quench the thirst of their high-expecting fans. With the high-level collaboration, Kpop enthusiasts can "expect a unique and innovative style."
MCA Music, the label taking care of Korea's so called "Nation's Girl Group" happily noted that local fans of the of the nine-member group "can guarantee themselves of a variety of awesome freebies to be given away for every purchase of the album." GG merchandise was imported straight from Korea!
To make this new output a significant jump from their previous works, GG ably interpreted various era and musical style in spite them admitting that the move was "quite challenging."
Last January 1st marked the debut of “I Got a Boy's" official music video. Their “Romantic Fantasy” was also broadcast on the same day, to the delight of their fans who felt they're bound to have a lucky 2013.
GG gained attention with their early hits "Into the New World" and "Kissing You". Their popularity skyrocketed with with the hit single "Gee" which was eventually named South Korea's 'Song of the Decade' in the period spanning the 2000s. Follow-up singles "Tell Me Your Wish", "Run Devil Run", and "Oh!" cemented their place in the industry.
In five years' time they have sold over 4.4 million albums and 30 million digital singles. One prestigious journal named them the most influential entertainers for 2011 and 2012, making them the first female idol group to earn the nod.
