Duke and Roadblock join forces in G.I. JOE 2

A follow-up to the 2009 worldwide blockbuster G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, which grossed over $300 million worldwide, In GI JOE: RETALIATION, the team is not only fighting their mortal enemy COBRA, but they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.  Converting the film into 3D takes the movie to a whole new level and brings the audience even closer to the non-stop action.  G.I. JOE RETALIATION hits theaters in RealD 3D & Digital 3D. 

The G.I. JOE mythology runs deep and has a pantheon of characters to draw from, each with their own back-story, nuances and characteristics. When approaching the sequel, the filmmakers wanted to build on the best elements and storylines from the first film and carry those through to the second installment while simultaneously creating a new identity and feel.  This offered the opportunity to introduce new characters from the mythology to the franchise.

Globe and Mozilla PH present "Zamboanga goes Mobile, Open Source Style",

Some 150 tech-savvy individuals are expected to join the community meet-up organized by Globe Telecom and Mozilla PH in Zamboanga City on March 16 to introduce open source technologies which allow the creation of programs that the public can view, edit, and redistribute.

Dubbed "Zamboanga goes Mobile, Open Source Style", the event will enable developers to learn open source technologies and use various mobile products of Firefox, namely:  Firefox OS, Firefox Marketplace, and Firefox for Android to create value for their business and their users.

Globe gets Palawan-Coron Submarine Fiber Optic Cable system underway

Lays first-ever fiber optic backbone linking Palawan to the rest of the Philippines, the world

To support the heightening tourism and business activities in the Western portion of the Philippines, Globe has successfully landed a 400-kilometer submarine fiber optic cable in Palawan, which will function as a “superhighway” of telecommunications services between Puerto Princesa City to the main Luzon island and the rest of the country and the world via San Jose, Mindoro, making the company the first telco to fiberize the area. It is also the first-ever fiber optic backbone connecting Palawan to the rest of the Philippines and globally.

The established interconnectivity will be equipped with ultra-long haul dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM), designed to transmit 40 wavelengths at 40-gigabits per second (GBPS) capacity per fiber pair, scalable to 100 GBPS per fiber pair. This translates to 19.2 Terabits per second of capacity, which will provide more than enough bandwidth to serve transmission requirements to enable evolved high speed packet access (HSPA+) and long term evolution or LTE in the area, capable of providing the required bandwidth for subscribers to have high-speed internet surfing, seamless video streaming, fast uploads of photos and videos to social media sites, and a more reliable network for text and voice calls.

According to the Globe Network Technical Group, this major upgrade under the company’s $700 million nationwide modernization initiative will replace existing SDH microwave equipment with fiber optic technology and DWDM system as the main transport backbone of Palawan.
